On 15 March 1939, Nazi Germany occupied Prague while most of Europe stood aside. Among the few senior German officers who opposed Hitler’s reckless path was Ludwig Beck, former Chief of the German General Staff.
This documentary follows Beck’s rise in the German army, his growing opposition to Hitler’s war plans, and his role in the German resistance. After resigning in protest in 1938, Beck later became one of the leading figures behind the 20 July 1944 plot to assassinate Hitler alongside Claus von Stauffenberg.
The documentary reveals how one of Germany’s most respected generals turned against the Nazi regime and risked everything to stop Hitler before Germany faced total destruction.
