11m
Therese Brandl was a German concentration camp guard who began her career at Ravensbrück before being transferred to Auschwitz in 1942. Survivor testimonies described her as particularly cruel toward women and children, accusing her of beatings, humiliation, and severe punishments. She also participated in selections of female prisoners, personally deciding who would remain alive and who would be sent to the gas chambers. Prilepený text Prilepený text
Near the end of the Second World War, Brandl served at the Mühldorf subcamp complex before fleeing as American forces approached. She was eventually captured and extradited to Poland, where she was brought before the Supreme National Tribunal alongside other former Auschwitz personnel. There, Brandl finally faced justice for the crimes she had committed against prisoners.
