Five days after the Allied landings in Normandy, French Resistance fighters attacked a German military train at Mussidan in southwestern France. The German response was brutal.

On 11 June 1944, soldiers of the 11th Panzer Division, joined by German security forces and French collaborators, rounded up hundreds of local men. By the end of the day, 52 civilians had been murdered and 115 others were deported to concentration camps.

Among the collaborators involved was Alexandre Villaplane, former captain of the French national football team who had become an SS officer. This documentary examines the Mussidan Massacre, the forces responsible, and the fate of some of its perpetrators.
