13m
During the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944, the collaborationist RONA forces of Bronisław Kaminski entered Warsaw’s Ochota district as part of the German operation to crush the Polish resistance. Over the following days, Polish civilians were murdered, robbed and subjected to widespread violence as homes, hospitals and entire streets were looted and burned. Thousands were forced into the makeshift Zieleniak camp, where executions, beatings, starvation and further atrocities followed. RONA troops also attacked the Radium Institute founded by Marie Curie, killing patients and medical staff. More than 10,000 people were killed during what became known as the Ochota massacre. This documentary examines the crimes committed by the Kaminski Brigade during the Warsaw Uprising and the eventual fate of the men responsible.
